This is Jordan's essential trilogy – the three destinations that define this remarkable country, woven into a seamless three-day journey. Petra, where ancient Nabataeans carved a rose-red city into sandstone cliffs. Wadi Rum, where desert silence and star-filled skies transport you to another world. The Dead Sea, where mineral-rich waters let you float effortlessly at the lowest point on Earth. Each destination offers a different Jordan: the archaeological wonder, the natural majesty, the therapeutic miracle. Together, they create the perfect introduction to a country that consistently exceeds expectations. This is the tour we recommend to every first-time visitor. This is Jordan, properly experienced. Practical Details

Everything important for planning, comfort, access, timing, and on-the-ground expectations.

Gear & Packing List
  • Swimwear. For Dead Sea float.
  • Water shoes. Dead Sea salt crystals are sharp.
  • Old swimsuit. Dead Sea mud may stain.
  • Hiking boots. Petra and Wadi Rum essential.
  • Warm layers. Desert nights cold.
  • Sun protection. Hat, sunglasses, SPF 50+.
  • Daypack. For carrying essentials.
  • Camera. Waterproof bag recommended for Dead Sea.
  • Portable phone charger or power bank. Your phone's GPS, camera, and flashlight functions drain battery quickly in remote areas.
  • Reusable water bottle. We provide bottled water, but a personal bottle helps you stay hydrated between stops.
  • Small backpack or daypack. For carrying your essentials without burdening you during walks and exploration.
  • Personal medications and copies of prescriptions. Medical facilities in remote areas may not stock specific medications.

Packing Advice

The key to comfortable travel in Jordan is layering. Desert mornings can be surprisingly cool even in summer, while midday temperatures can soar. Sites like Petra and Wadi Rum offer minimal shade, making sun protection essential year-round. Comfortable, broken-in walking shoes are absolutely critical – this is not the place for new footwear or fashion sandals. We recommend packing light but smart: choose versatile items that can be mixed and matched, and remember that laundry services are available at most hotels if needed. Leave room in your luggage for souvenirs – Jordanian handicrafts, Dead Sea products, and spices are irresistible.

Insider Secrets
  • Dead Sea Best Time. Visit between 08:00-11:00 AM or 04:00-06:00 PM. Midday sun is intense and crowds peak. Morning offers calmest waters.
  • Petra's Hidden Bench. Behind the Treasury, a small ledge offers the best self-photography angle – your guide knows the spot.
  • Wadi Rum's Secret Canyon. Beyond the main tourist route, a narrow canyon contains 3,000-year-old inscriptions of ostriches and hunters – ask your Bedouin guide.
  • Mud Application Technique. Apply Dead Sea mud thickly, let dry 10 minutes, then rinse. Do not exceed 15 minutes in the water at a time – hydrate between floats.
  • Best Photo of All Three. From the Monastery viewpoint, if you turn 180 degrees, the Wadi Araba desert stretches to the horizon – the same desert you will camp in that evening.

FAQs

Clear answers before you reserve your journey.

It is the minimum for the classic trio. You will see Petra's essentials, Wadi Rum's highlights, and have a proper Dead Sea float. You will not see Jerash, Amman, or Aqaba, but you will experience the three destinations that define Jordan. Most guests find it satisfying as a first visit.

The drives are part of the experience. Amman-Petra (3 hours), Petra-Wadi Rum (1.5 hours), Wadi Rum-Dead Sea (4 hours). Vehicles are comfortable with reclining seats. You will sleep in the vehicle, arriving refreshed. The Dead Sea-Amman return is only 45 minutes.

No - normal swimming is impossible due to buoyancy. You float effortlessly. Do not get water in your eyes (extremely painful). Do not shave for 24 hours before (salt stings). Cover cuts with petroleum jelly. Follow these rules and it is magical.

Perfectly fine. Your guide will take you to alternative sites - the High Place of Sacrifice, additional tombs, or extended Treasury time. The Monastery is optional.

If budget allows, yes. The Movenpick Petra is iconic - located at Petra's entrance with Treasury-view rooms. The Movenpick Dead Sea is a proper resort experience. Our Signature package includes both.

We have optimized the route: Petra first (most demanding), Wadi Rum second (recovery in desert), Dead Sea last (pure relaxation). This pacing prevents exhaustion and ends on a high note.
